Carnegie Mellon Anonymous Confession Board
I thought you guys might like this:http://www.collegeacb.com/sb.php?school=CMU
The concept is simple: It is a free blog site that anyone can post on while being completely anonymous. You can ask the most simple questions about CMU or college life, or get a little more open and even blog about personal stuff. There is nothing you can't say. It's a site that gives people the opportunity to express what they are thinking and get responses without worrying about what anyone else thinks about them personally...pretty cool.
Money for the Summer?
Magee Women's Hospital of UPMC is recruiting women for a Group B Strep Vaccine Trial
To be eligible, you must:
-not be pregnant
-be between 18-40 years old
-have been sexually active in the past 4 months
-be in the Pittsburgh area for the next 18 months
What is GBS?
GBS is bacteria commonly found in the vagina. One in four American women have GBS but do not know it. It is not usually harmful to non-pregnant women. However, in pregnancy it may be passed to the baby at delivery and may cause serious problems for the baby.
Women will be tested for GBS at the screening visit. Women who do not have GBS at this visit may be eligible for the vaccine trial that involves a single vaccination and a total of 11 visits over 18 months.
You will receive $35 at the end of the screening visit. If you qualify and complete the vaccine trial, you will be compensated up to $410.
This NIH-sponsored study is to evaluate an investigational vaccine to try to protect women from a common type of GBS known to cause serious problems to newborns. You cannot get Group B Strep from receiving this vaccine.
